deciding the colour-scheme

We decided that the colour scheme should be bright colours on a black background as this would be attractive to look at as well as making the text easy to read. The font would be a fun and attractive font so as not to lose the young audience's attention.

We decided our color scheme would be vibrant. The font is bright and almost florescent pink that is eye catching, and at the same time, readable. We have added a few animations to the font to give a more interesting feel which also adds to the suitability of the target audience.

Soundtrack

As this is a children's film, the soundtrack needs to be interesting enough to hold the young audience's attention. it cannot contain any expletive language and mustn't be too un-nerving, with a relatively upbeat bass and drum line and not to many complex and hard to follow rhythms.

This song is good for a soundtrack as it is fun, there is no swearing involved in the lyrics and is appropriate for the target audience as when the band released this song they were in their teens which made them close to the age group in mind for the opening sequence. The song is bubbly and uplifting which are two of the qualities that will be needed when we create the soundtrack for our own title sequence. Something along the lines of this song will either be used or at least kept in mind when creating our soundtrack. Our soundtrack will most probably be toned down in terms of 'rockiness' and made a little more acoustic to ease the target audience into the excitement of 'The Magical Meep's Adventure'.

Starting the children's film opening sequence.

to begin with we decided on what certificate rating we wanted our sequence to be. We chose PG as this allows us to add some mild thread, such as a slightly disheartening title soundtrack. such as that shown below.

These titles are suitable for children as they display only mild threat/horror, such as the fact that the 'skeksis'  are only cartoons. However; in the real film, whether this is to do with the fact it was made in the 80's and a director (in this case jim henson) could get away with a lot more as it was a fantasy and the regulations and requirements were a lot more lax. For example, nowadays a director would not be able to include horror/ threat such as the video below as it would be unacceptable due to the footage being just too disturbing.

videos found on youtube.
This just a sample test using a video camera just to get an in-site of what we are going to achieve next week when we shoot for the final time.

Fairly Odd Parents

The main character in the series is Timmy Turner, who is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the town of Dimmsdale with his dim-witted parents. His life is constantly miserable, due to the fact that his parents are rarely home and he is babysat by Vicky, a 16 year old torturous babysitter. But everything changes when he receives two Fairy Godparents: Cosmo and his wife, Wanda, and later their son Poof. Timmy learns that his fairy godparents are capable of granting him any wish he wants within certain limits. However, Timmy's immature nature causes him to sometimes ask for wishes that unintentionally result in disaster, and he and his fairy godparents must find a way to "unwish" the wish.
